Two Japanese Consortia were declared winners of two contracts worth L.E. 632 million sponsored by the Energy Sector. The first worth L.E. 292 million was signed with a consortium of Hitachi Ltd. & Somitomo Corp. for the steam turbine package of Kureimat combined cycle power station. The second, worth L.E. 340 million, was signed with another Japanese group for a high voltage power transmission line linking Sidi Kreir power station with Noubariya power station.
