Three Arab & International companies declared winners of concessions for petroleum exploration & exploitation countrywide. They included a UAE based company winning two concessions at East Magawish on the Suez Gulf & South Siwa in the Western Desert. They also included a UK company to cover an area identified as West Esh El Mallaha zone on the Suez Gulf and an Australian company to operate in the Southern Valley, to the West of Komombo. Interesting is that all three companies are new comers to the Egyptian Petroleum Sector. According to Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Minerals Wealth, 13 companies competed for the concessions. |
