According to Dr. Eng. Tarek Kamel, Egypt Minister of Communications & Information Technology, two new licenses for extending international calls services among specialized national and international operators, so far monopolised by Telecom Egypt. Conditions & specifications of both licenses would adhere to Egypt obligations towards GAT providing for the complete liberalisation of the country telecommunications market by the end of 2005. N.B. Several Kuwaiti & other Gulf Groups have repeatedly expressed interest to involve with Egypt promising communications market. |
