Initial agreement was reached with China on a $ 16.5 million soft loan to consolidate & revamp Egypt polyester fiber industry. It would be allocated to the Holding Co. for Cotton, Spinning & Weaving to manage and finance the rehabilitation & replacement of equipment and production lines at Misr Co. for Polyester Fibers & Threads in Kafr Al Dawar. The loan is for repayment over 20 years including five years grace and bears a yearly interest of 2 %. Loan is raised by China Bank & the Bank Chairman is expected in Egypt in 15 days time for finalizing the deal. |
