A report received by Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth, Eng. Sameh Fahmy, from the Chairman of Southern Valley Petroleum Holding Co., Eng. Hassan Aql, included the recommendation of establishing a crude oil refinery on Edfou/ Marsa Alam road to have the capacity to process 50,000 barrels of crude per day. Project integrates with a 400-Km long petroleum products pipeline to extend from Sohag to Asswan of 100,000 barrels/ day capacity, to be executed over four stages. It further provides for the construction of other four main petroleum products storage tanks in Assuit, Sohag, Qena & Asswan. Project further provides for the construction of a 250-Km long natural gas pipeline from Beni Swef to Assuit, to be extended later on Asswan. |
