A 330 Km long road linking Asswan with Berneis outlet on the Red Sea seems getting close to completion hence opening new horizons to Asswan citizens, projects & businesses in Asswan City. A 3 hours trip along that road would greatly contribute to smooth movement of persons & goods between both locations. The project 215-Km long first phase was recently completed under L.E. 83 million costs within Asswan Governorate. Of the project 115 Km long second stage, extending along the Red Sea Governorate, a 75 Km long section is said to be completed & the remaining 40 Km long section is now executed by GARBLT - General Authority for Roads, Bridges & Land Transport, under L.E. 29 million investments. Asswan Governor was quoted in the media revealing that the road goes along an area known to be reasonably rich with mineral wealth in the Eastern Desert. |
