Informed petroleum sources, quoted in the media, have revealed that an initial agreement was low tone signed between E-Gas (Holding Co. for Natural Gas) & the US based Evanho Co. to prepare a feasibility study on a natural gas liquefication project. Scheme would go under commitment of E-Gas to supply it with 600,000 cubic feet of natural gas/ day over a 20 years duration. Final project agreement depends on findings & conclusions of the feasibility study. Development followed earlier announcement of Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Petroleum, indicating that only one fourth of the country gas reserves, instead of one third, would be allocated for export. No mention was given to estimated project investments, or to its location. |
