Contracts were recently signed for phase 2 & 3 of a 220 KV overhead power transmission line project to extend Abu Redeis/ Al Toor/ Sharm Al Sheikh. Project aims at improving electricity supply in North & South Sinai to better serve tourist, mining, industrial & commercial projects, also households. Job is scheduled for completion in 10 months for each phase. Development follows the completion of the project first phase [100 Km long] extending Ras Sidr/ Abu Redeis. Both phases provide for civil & electromechanical erection works. According to Dr. Eng. Hassan Younis, Minister of Electricity & Energy, total costs of all three phases are put at L.E. 260 million. Another contract was also signed to supply aluminum conductors and steel earthing wire required for another overhead power transmission line extending Mout/ Balat cities in New Valley Governorate worth L.E. 32 million. Client for both contracts is EETC - Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. |
