In an interview with Eng. Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Egypt Minister of Foreign Trade & Industry, published in the media, the official revealed that industrial companies from India, Turkey & Taiwan have submitted applications to invest in Egypt textile industry and that other international trading companies are rushing to open offices in Egypt to act on behalf of US textile & garments importers. He further disclosed that almost $ 52 million new [foreign] investments were so far pumped in the industry, particularly in Port Said, generating almost 5,770 new employment opportunities.
