An agreement was recently signed in Cairo providing for the EU to extend Egypt some Euro 80 million soft finance (about 560 million) to back Government efforts supply pure potable water to all villages & locations countrywide. Funds are for disbursement over the next 3 years. EU Ambassador to Egypt indicated that it is the first time that EU extends direct financial support to Egypt potable water sector. |
