According to General Mohamed El Shahhat, Governor of Matrouh, some L.E. 15 million budget funds were initially allocated to proceed with a project for the reclamation of 300,000 feddans on the Egyptian Libyan boarders [ Al Ghara Village ]. The project will mainly involve with the growing of olive & date palm trees among other clean crops not depending on chemical insecticides & fertilizers, also depending on drip irrigation technologies. Scheme is planned for completion in 4 years over 3 stages. |
