According to Dr. Eng. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of EHC – Electricity Holding Co., ten local & international groups are competing for different packages pertaining to El Tebbin 700 MW power station. That includes 7 groups competing for the project civil works & 3 groups competing for the steam turbines. Worth indicating is that the L.E. 2.4 billion project is backed by $ 260 million soft loan from the World Bank to finance its foreign currency component for repayment over 20 years, with the remaining L.E. 900 million raised by CEPC – Cairo Electricity Production Co. |
