Final contract signed with AFESD – Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development to extend $ 100 million soft loan to back the extension of Cairo West power station. Contract was signed between AFESD Chairman, Mr. Abdel Latif Al Hamad, and Egypt Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mrs. Fayza Abul Naga. Implementing agency is CEPC – Cairo Electricity Production Co. loan is for repayment over 24 years including six years grace & bears a 3 % annual interest. Mrs. Abul Naga was quoted in the media indicating that negotiations with AFESD is ongoing on anther $ 120 million loan to back Hurghada Airport revamping scheme. |
